HI I am trying to learn my self how to connect a Dell R720 server with a LTO 7 tape library. Can someone advise and guide me with the best practice? because to begin with I have these questions.1. Tape library Data Storage, Backup & Recovery. If you are using the WatchGuard SSL VPN client, than this one has a client side log. If you are using OpenVPN, than there is no autoupdate for certificates, so you must download the new OVPN file from the Firebox. The WGRD Client should autoupdate, but users can still download the OVPN file from the /sslvpn site on the Firebox and fire up the VPN by 'opening' this OVPN file (should be associated with the SSL VPN client). So what client do you use for SSLVPN? The WGRD client or OpenVPN? Now you have a new box, what also means, that all the certificates have changed, so you need to update your clients with the new certificates. This would directly port the settings from one FB to the other, without having to fear, that you forgot something to copy/paste. Last step is to upload the 'adapted' configuration. Next you change the Firebox model to T40 in the settings and replace the feature key with the new one. When you upgrade from a T30 to a T40, you take WSM Policy Manager, download the config from the T30 (or open the last saved). All of these entries are informational, not warnings, and there is no indication why the user was logged out.Īny WatchGuard users with a suggestion on what to be looking at?įirst thing of all - did you MANUALLY rewrite the whole config by using copy/paste? I really hope not, but it sounds as if you had! When I make a connection, there are three entries in the traffic monitor: The VPN user's authentication is accepted, then 2 seconds later the VPN user is logged in and assigned a virtual IP address, then a second later the VPN user is logged out. Well it does, then it immediately disconnects, and there is no indication in the Traffic Monitor as to why. It's a straightforward setup, less complicated than SonicWall even not being familiar with WatchGuard, and there was no aspect that wasn't clear.Įxcept it doesn't work. The existing setup and the WatchGuard documentation agreed in every aspect of the VPN setup. I also referenced the SSLVPN setup KB info available from WatchGuard. I copied the configuration in every detail from a T30-W firewall which the T40 has replaced. I have configured a T40-W firewall for SSLVPN. I am waiting on a callback from Watchguard support for this issue. ![]()
